Hammond rallied from an early 7-2 deficit and used a clutch performance out fo the bullpen by Jack Weston to defeat Ben Lippen 11-7 in nine innings to win the SCISA 3A state championship at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
Will Taylor's 3-run triple helped Ben Lippen score seven runs in the second inning to take a 7-2 lead. But Hammond would chip away and tie the game 7 to force extra innings.
In the top of the ninth, Brig Brigman delivered a clutch two-run single that gave Hammond the lead for good.
It's the Skyhawks' first state title since 2013.
