Dutch Fork receiver signs with Tennessee

Jalin Hyatt signs with Tennessee in the early signing period. The Dutch Fork and Shrine Bowl receiver did so in the early period.

Jalin Hyatt has had a busy week in Spartanburg practicing with his South Carolina teammates in preparation for Saturday's 83rd annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas,

But Jalin and other Shrine Bowl players who wanted to sign early were able to do so as the Shrine Bowl officials set aside a time Wednesday morning for those players to go ahead and sign their national letters of intent.

Jalin has been a longtime Tennessee pledge after initially committing to Virginia Tech. He will now join former Dutch Fork playmaker Bryce Thompson in Knoxville. Thompson is a sophomore cornerback for the Voluteers.

Hyatt's last game was the 5A state championship which was attended by Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt and Jalin's chief recruiter Chris Rumph, the former Gamecock linebacker and Calhoun County product. All Hyatt did was open the scoring with an 80-yard touchdown catch and close the scoring in overtime with the game-winning catch which gave Dutch Fork a 34-31 victory over Dorman.
