National Signing Day is a big day for area athletes

Kendall Long from River Bluff and Chapin's Justin Gentry will both be playing in the ACC.

River Bluff has had athletes sign with schools with Power 5 conferences, but no one in football - until now.

Receiver Kendall Long becomes the first Gator football player to sign a scholarship with a school from the Power 5 landscape as he will play at Syracuse.

Joining Long in the ACC is Chapin offensive lineman Thornton Gentry. The son of Chapin head coach Justin Gentry signed with N.C. State.
