Irmo's Football Coach Leaving To Take Over Manning Program

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Some high school football news today. It was announced that Reggie Kennedy will leave the Irmo program to be the next head coach at Manning High School in Clarendon County where he is from.

In five seasons at Irmo Kennedy led the Yellowjackets to four playoff appearances.

Kennedy will replace Keith West who left to be a part of the Sumter Gamecocks football staff.

Kennedy is a former SC State Bulldog and East Clarendon product. He has been coaching all over the Midlands. This will be his seventh head coaching job. He's had with previous stints with Blythewood, Fairfield Central, Sumter and Orangeburg-Wilkinson.

Kennedy has also served as a Shrine Bowl, Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Senior Bowl coach and was on the sidelines as a head coach for the inaugral Metro Senior Bowl hosted by Irmo this past season.

Under West, Manning has finished 7-4 in each of the last three seasons. Kennedy was a finalist for the Manning job before the school went with West. Now, Kennnedy will return to his native Clarendon County and take over the Monarchs program.
