Swansea's Bri Reynolds Sets New State Scoring Record

COLUMBIA, SC — History was made Monday night in high school soccer. Swansea's Bri Reynolds was five goals away from the Palmetto State single season scoring record and she set a new record after scoring six goals.

Bri and the Tigers took on Loris in the first round of the 3A playoffs. Bri came in to the game with 56 goals on the year and she scored early and often. The junior scored four times in the first half to tie the record (60 goals) set by Bryn Post of RNE back in 2002.

Then with the three and half minutes into the second half Bri scores her fifth goal of the game to break the record. She wasn't done. She scored one more time and set the new Palmetto State single season scoring record with 62 goals as the Tigers cruise past Loris with a 13-0 win.

The Tigers have been blowing out teams lately due in large part to Bri's success and her teammate Jane Ashley Meredith who leads the state in assists with 52. The duo are the top two points leaders in South Carolina.

Watch Bri's highlights from her record breaking game, hear how she feels about making history and her coach Chad Meredith talks about what makes her special.
