From the time he arrived in Columbia to earlier this week at his weekly news conference, Will Muschamp has never uttered a bad word about the four years he spent in Gainesville as Florida's head coach.

"I grew up in Gainesville, so I spent 10 years of my life there," Muschamp said.

"We had a wonderful time in Florida. Carol, Jackson , Whit and I were talking about it the other night after our game Saturday. Again, I've got great memories at Florida. Obviously, if you don't win enough games, you're going to get fired. That's part of our profession,. There are no hard feelings. That's just the way things go in that situation. I've got a great opportunity here at South Carolina. I'm glad I'm a Gamecock."

Muschamp is 1-1 against his former team, losing in 2016 in The Swamp before winning last year in Columbia.

Florida is on its second head coach since Muschamp left as Dan Mullen came from Starkville to replace Jim McIlwain who lasted not even two full seasons.
