Clemson lands top quarterback in the 2020 Class

The Tigers now have the number one recruiting class in the country for 2020 as 5 Star QB DJ Uiagalelei commits to Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. — The rich get richer. Clemson, the defending champions of college football, could be calling themselves that more often than you think.

Five-star quarterback and the number one QB in the 2020 class, DJ Uiagalelei, committed to Clemson on Sunday. In an interview with TigerNet.com he said he's known that Clemson was the place for him since last June. In his commitment video below he has a clip of him standing in Memorial Stadium.

DJ is the fourth 5-star commit for the Tigers who now have the number one ranked recruiting class in the country for 2020, according to several of the top recruiting websites. Rivals has Uiagalelei ranked as the number one prospect in America.

Rising sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence is excited to have DJ on board as well.

The 6'4" 240 pound pro-style quarterback out of Bellflower, CA plays for St. John Bosco and chose Clemson over Oregon, Texas A&M, Southern California, Utah and Texas.

DJ is seen as the heir apparent to Trevor Lawrence who could leave after his junior year given that he won a national title as a freshmen.

The 2020 class has a strong foundation of defensive playmakers like defensive lineman Bryan Bresee who is the number two overall prospect in the class of 2020. A lot of four-star offensive lineman are in the class who will protect DJ and open holes for 5-Star running back Demarkcus Bowman.

Last year in his junior season DJ threw for 3,366 yards, 48 TDs and just 7 interceptions while completing almost 70 percent of his passes.
