College football bowl schedule for the 2018-19 season

A total of 40 postseason games in the Football Bowl Subdivision are set to take place in December and January. The action kicks off Dec. 15.

It's time to most wonderful time of the year. Yeah, there's the holidays. But there is also the college football bowl season to entertain us. A total of 40 postseason games in the Football Bowl Subdivision are set to take place in December and January.

The action kicks off with the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. It's the first among five games scheduled for Dec. 15.

The College Football Playoff semifinals will be held on Dec. 29 at the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas, and Orange Bowl at Miami Gardens, Fla.

The national championship game will wrap up the bowl season extravaganza on Jan. 7 in Santa Clara, Calif.

A rundown of the bowl lineup:

Dec. 15 — New Mexico Bowl: North Texas vs. Utah State, ESPN, 2 p.m.

Dec. 15 — Cure Bowl: Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Tulane, CBSSN, 2:30 p.m.

Dec. 15 — Las Vegas Bowl: Arizona State vs. Fresno State, ABC, 3:30 p.m.

Dec. 15 — Camellia Bowl: Eastern Michigan vs. Georgia Southern, ESPN, 5:30 p.m.

Dec. 15 — New Orleans Bowl: Appalachian State vs. Middle Tenn., ESPN, 9 p.m.
