Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina star linebacker Skai Moore will miss the entire 2016 season, Gamecocks Head Coach Will Muschamp has confirmed
Scott Hood with GamecockCentral.com says Muschamp confirmed the news Tuesday during SEC meetings in Destin, Florida.
Hood reports Muschamp told reporters that Moore's herniated disk didn't heal properly, and will require surgery soon. Moore is expected to need six months to recover, which will cost him the upcoming season.

He's expected to get a medical redshirt, allowing him to retain his eligibility for the 2017 season.
Moore is considered the Gamecocks top returning defensive player, having led them in tackles the last three season. He has 11 career interceptions, just three off the all-time school record.
The rising senior had a chance to enter this past spring's NFL draft, but elected to come back to the Gamecocks.
