USC Tennis Team Reloads With Top Ranked Recruiting Class

COLUMBIA, S.C. — After the best season in the history of the USC women's tennis program 2019 could just be the beginning of more elite play from the Gamecocks. 

Head coach Kevin Epley is bringing in the number one recruiting class in the country according to the Tennis Recruiting Network. 

Carolina will have six newcomers and Gemma Heath out of England leads the class as the top rated recruit in Great Britain. 

There is come local flavor in this class too. Mid-Carolina's Elise Mills is the fourth ranked prospect in the South Carolina out of Prosperity and Kendall Couch out of Heathwood Hall is ranked 10th in the state.

USC won the SEC tournament championship for the first time in program history and made it to their first Elite 8 this past year. 

Senior Ingrid Martins won SEC player of the year, Epley was the conference's pick for coach of the year and the doubles team of Martins and Mia Horvit finished in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings as the top doubles team in the country.
