Orangeburg native will return to the S.C. State hoops program

Tashombe Riley will return to the Bulldog basketball program pending NCAA approval

The South Carolina State basketball team is getting a familiar face back in the fold.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson product Tashombe Riley will return to the Bulldog program for what will be his final season on the college level.

Riley transferred to South Alabama but was injured this past season and was unable to suit up for that program. He also sat out the previous season at S.C. State due to a lower leg injury.

After reaching out to S.C. State head coach Murray Garvin, everything was put in place for Riley to return pending a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA. He's been cleared by the S.C. State medical staff so he should be good to go.

Riley's junior season in 2016-2017 saw him average 12 points and five rebounds per game. This is an athletic 6-7 forward who can shoot.

So assuming the NCAA signs off on this and if he stays healthy, this will be a major addition to Bulldog basketball for the upcoming season.
