Saturday Means Final Dress Rehearsals For High School Football Teams

With many teams starting the 2018 campaign in week zero, Saturday marked the final dress rehearsal.

The last time Hammond was on the field at Benedict's Charlie W. Johnson Stadium, the Skyhawks were victorious in the SCISA AAA state championship game.

Saturday evening, Hammond was back in that venue facing W.J. Keenan in the Richland One Sportsarma.

The Skyhawks defeated the Raiders 27-6 helped in part by three touchdown passes by quarterback Jackson Muschamp.

At Chapin High School, the Aun and McKay Kickoff Classic marked the second straight night of scrimmaging for Spring Valley. The Viking competed in the Camden Shrine Club Jamboree on Friday before making the drive to Chapin High School for Saturday's exhibition against Newberry. The Vikings won 14-0.

Next week, the games will count for real as week zero kicks off and thus, the 2018 season wil be underway.
