Ozante Fields came off the bench and went 7-of-7 from the floor for a team-high 19 points as South Carolina State defeated Voorhees 90-69 Thursday night in college basketball action.
Fields also added 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs who are now 2-8.
Damani Applewhite added 16 points and 11 rebounds as five S.C. State players scored in double figures.
At Claflin University, Tristan Thompson scored 18 points and Alex Brown added 16 as the Panthers snapped a six-game losing streak with a 72-70 win over Virginia Union.
The Panthers trailed 33-30 at halftime.
