In spite of eight inches deposited on the Country Club of Lexington, the 61st annual SCGA Junior Championship was able to conclude with just enough daylight for a playoff to be held between Daniel Island's Austin Scott and J.T. Herman from Hilton Head Island.

Both players finished the 36-hole tournament at 5-under par. The par 5 1st hole was the first playoff hole and Scott and Herman would each make par.

On the second playoff hole, Herman would find trouble as he would have to tee off twice due to a lost ball. Scott found the fairway and would make par on the par 4 5th hole to secure the title.

This was quite the sophomore year for Scott who helped Bishop England win the 3A state championship a month ago.

Blythewood's Matthew Hutto was the highest finishing player from the Midlands. After an even par round on Tuesday, Hutto shot a 2-under par 70 in round two to finish in sixth.
