The Chris Silva Tour makes a stop in Charlotte

Former USC forward is hoping to get a call on the night of the NBA Draft

While Zion Williamson and Ja Morant will likely go 1-2 later this month at the NBA Draft, former USC forward Chris Silva will gladly be number 60.

After working out for Minnesota and Atlanta, Silva was in Charlotte Tuesday where he and other draft hopefuls were put through the paces by the Hornet coaching staff. Silva had previously showcased his skills at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament and the Pro Basketball Combine.

The SEC Defensive Player of the Year in his junior season, SIlva hopes all the travelling and hard work will pay off with a phone call on draft night. As far as what he accomplished Tuesday, Silva gave a list of qualities he hopes were noticed by the Hornet coaches.

"Play all around from the post to the three-point line,' Silva said.

"That I'm tough. I play gritty."

When asked what was more demanding, a Hornets pre-draft workout or a typical Frank Martin practice, Silva didn't hesitate.

"You know the answer to that - Frank,": said Silva who knows his four years in the Martin system has prepared him for what's next.

"Coming in every practice, get ready for practice," said Silva.

"That's the thing I apply for the workouts. Went to Jersey, got ready for it. Came here and gave all my best."

The NBA Draft is set for June 20 in Brooklyn. Silva has another scheduled pre-draft workout with Sacramento. One mock draft has Silva just missing out on being one of the 60 players taken. But these workouts will give Silva the chance to improve his draft stock.
