For the third straight year, Deebo Samuel will take part in SEC Media Days where more than 1,000 members of the media will be there to greet them.

Samuel, who has already received some pre-season All-America recognition, is one of the most electrifying players in the country. He played in the first three games of 2017 before suffering a broken leg which ended his season. The other player representatives are quarterback Jake Bentley and defensive lineman D.J. Wonnum. Bentley returns for his second full season as the starting quarterback with his last game in the Outback Bowl where he earned MVP honors. Wonnum enjoyed a breakout season in 2017 where he was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week in back to back weeks in October.

The annual SEC preseason media gathering, taking place in Atlanta for the first time, begins Sunday with a fan fest. The first day of interviews begins Monday with USC coming in Thursday morning, the final day of SEC Media Days.

USC Notes

Dutch Fork graduate and former Auburn signee Stephen Davis, Jr., who came to USC as a walk-on running back in 2017, has left the program for the second time. He was not listed on the 2018 roster which was released Wednesday.

The new 110,000-square foot football operations building will be known as the Cyndi and Kenneth Long Family Football Operations Center. That announcement was made at the school's Wednesday Board of Trustees meeting. Kenneth Long is the President of Long's Drugs and 1980 graduate of USC's pharmacy school. His wife, Cyndi, is a 1986 USC graduate with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. The new building is scheduled to be completed at the end of the year.
