HOPKINS, S.C. — A driver attempting to evade Richland County Sheriff's deputies caused two schools in the Hopkins area to go temporarily on lock-down early Monday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. when deputies patrolling the Lower Richland area spotted a stolen vehicle and attempted a lawful traffic stop.
The driver did not stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. Deputies say the driver then stopped and ran on foot but was captures shortly after.
