COLUMBIA, S.C. — Drivers who use I-77 will encounter some slowdowns Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation is letting travelers along I-77 between mile markers 6 (Shop Road) and 9 (Garners Ferry Road) know they will enact nighttime lane closures as crews work to install new overhead digital message signs.
The work will begin 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. The right and center lanes of I-77 southbound will be closed, while the left lane will remain open with the exception of a temporary highway patrol pacing for sign installation. All lane closures are expected to be removed and traffic should be flowing freely by 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
