Coroner identifies woman killed while crossing Platt Springs Road in Lexington County

The driver, who remained at the scene, was not injured.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A Friday evening crash involving a pedestrian in Lexington County has left a 70-year-old woman dead.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office said that Debra Marlene Bilbo of Lexington was attempting to cross Platt Springs Road near Highland Drive when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle around 6 p.m.

Details about the investigation are still limited but Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Bilbo died at the scene from injuries she received in the crash.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was not injured, Fisher said.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
