COLUMBIA, S.C. — The City of Columbia Public Works division was able to inspect the flooded portion of Long Creek Drive and has re-opened the road.

The division posted on social media that street sweepers were continuing to clean the road but the pavement remains slick and a bit muddy.

Buses serving Oak Pointe Elementary, in Lexington-Richland 5 School District, were re-routed Monday morning to avoid flooding on Lost Creek.

While the water has been receding, more rain is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Motorists are asked to use caution when driving in stormy conditions and are reminded to never drive through floodwater.
