NEWBERRY, S.C. — A concerted effort from fire crews, deputies, and emergency responders led to a successful rescue on Sunday when a truck wrecked into a creek.

The Friendly Fire Department in Newberry County shared photos and information from the scene showing a significantly damaged pickup truck in a low-lying creek.

While the details of the crash itself weren't shared, the fire department said it worked alongside emergency medical services and the Newberry County Sheriff's Office to free the truck's two occupants and get them back to dry land.

A heavy wrecker would later remove the truck itself from the creek punctuating a major cooperative effort between agencies.

"This was a team effort by all," the fire station's statement concluded.
