RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A pedestrian died and a motorcyclist was hospitalized after an accident on Two Notch Road late Friday night.
Master Trooper David Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Two Notch Road (U.S. 1) and Trenholm Road.
Jones said the pedestrian was hit in the road by a northbound 2017 Suzuki motorcycle while trying to cross the highway. The pedestrian died as a result and the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The rider was wearing a helmet at the time. It's unclear who the highway patrol believes was at fault for the accident or whether the deceased victim was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Trooper Jones said the crash is still under investigation.
