SCDOT to repair potholes on I-77 Southbound

Work to patch potholes to begin at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, and end 4 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Department of Transportation will begin patching some of the worst potholes along I-77 in an overnight session beginning 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, and ending around 4 a.m. Thursday, November 18.

The area has gotten complaints over the years to the rough ride it gives people crossing over it.

The work will be on the southbound lanes of the I-77 bridge over the Congaree River (between mile markers 2 and 3). Motorists traveling in the area are asked to slow down during the patch work and to expect minor delays.

Work was originally to have begun on I-77 in October. There's no word on when repairs will take place in the northbound lane.
