COLUMBIA, S.C. — Commuters in north Richland County should be aware a portion of Hardscrabble Road will be closed the week of May 23 while South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) begins work in advance of a widening project.
Hardscrabble Road at the intersection of Farrow Road/SC-555 will be closed. All traffic along Hardscrabble Road will be detoured to Powell Road to Pigsah Road to reach Farrow Road.
SCDOT says the closure is required for reconstruction of the roadway associated with the Hardscrabble Road widening project. Weather permitting, the road is expected to reopen on Friday, May 27.
In addition, there will also be a one-day closure on Hardscrabble at the railroad crossing near Farrow Road at William Hardin Road. All southbound traffic on Hardscrabble Road will detour on William Hardin, right on Rabon Road, left on SC 55, and follow detour at Pisgah Church to Powell Road. William Hardin Road will be reopened this afternoon, Monday, May 23.
