COLUMBIA, S.C. — Two crashes on Interstate 20 caused some delays for drivers in that area on Monday morning.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, one crash happened on I-20 East near the Broad River Road exit.
At one point, two right-hand lanes were closed as emergency vehicles responded to the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) reported that crash at 7:43 a.m.
Injuries are reported as a result of the I-20 East crash, but no additional details were provided.
The second crash happened on I-20 West just one mile away from the first collision.
The westbound crash was reported just one minute after the first collision. One lane was closed as a result.
According to the SCHP, no one was injured in the I-20 West crash.
Trooper David Jones from the South Carolina Highway Patrol said drivers should expect delays in that area as troopers respond to both crashes.
At 8:35 a.m., SCDOT posted on their Twitter that all lanes on I-20 eastbound had reopened.
At around 8:40 a.m., Trooper David Jones sent another tweet out saying that both crashes have been cleared from the roadway.
