LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — As of 11 a.m., the South Carolina Department of Transportation reports all lanes of I-20 westbound have reopened after a tractor trailer fire had all lanes blocked earlier this morning. Exit 55 to Hwy 6/Swansea/Lexington remains closed at this time while crews are clearing the road.

The accident occurred around 6:04 a.m. and traffic is backed up from the Exit 55 exit ramp to near Hwy 1 in Lexington County.

Crews responding to the scene found the tractor portion had "significant fire" and was spreading to the cargo container. There was a fuel leak that was contained by the Lexington County Haz-Mat team. With the exception of the closed exit ramp, traffic is again flowing normally. No injuries have been reported.

Lexington Police asked motorists to be patient as traffic was diverted through the town of Lexington. Motorists in the area were asked to find an alternate route as the collision took a few hours to clear.
