LEXINGTON, S.C. — The remains of a woods fire are causing smoky conditions in the Red Bank area of Lexington County.
Authorities say the multi-acre woods fire that was at the intersection of Platt Springs Road and South Lake Drive is under control but smoldering stumps and other materials will continue to produce hazy conditions over the next few days. Lexington County Fire is monitoring conditions within the burned area.
Maps show the fire spread to roughly five acres before it was contained with the last update just before 10 a.m.
Drivers in the area should use caution until the smoke clears. No injuries or accidents have been reported as a direct result of the smoke so far.
