FAA reports plane crash in Lexington County

GILBERT, S.C. — The Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed a plane crash that occurred in Lexington County on Saturday.

While details are still limited, a spokesperson for the agency said that the pilot of a single-engine de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver crashed while attempting to leave a field near Gilbert.

The agency reports that two people were aboard the aircraft but couldn't provide any additional information regarding the injuries sustained.

A spokesperson for the FAA said this information was still under investigation and that the details provided so far are preliminary.
