Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina is one of the most dangerous states to travel in during the Thanksgiving holiday season, according to a study.

A Secure Life put out a report this month ranking the safest and most dangerous states for Turkey Day travel. South Carolina came in as the sixth most dangerous state.

The site said they came up with their ranking by looking at the number of fatal car crashes between 2012 and 2016 in each state during the month of November, using federal statistics. They then calculated the likelihood of an accident occurring during the holiday period per 100,000 people in each state.
