Jasper County, SC (WLTX) - A section of Interstate 95 South in Jasper County is back open after Tropical Depression Bonnie dumped over a half foot of rain on it, forcing its closure.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation says I-95 Southbound at the U.S. 17 exit, which is around mile marker 22, was blocked because of water on the road.

The blockage began around mid Sunday morning

Forecast: Bonnie Downgraded to a Depression, Still Expected to be a Rainmaker

Doppler radar estimates showed more than 10.4 inches of rain fell in that area in just a few hours. Bonnie made landfall at the Isle of Palms near Charleston around 8:30 Sunday morning.
