Columbia Police investigate Saturday night shooting off Plowden Road

The shooting left the victim with what police described as 'significant gunshot wounds' primarily to the upper body.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police say one man suffered significant wounds in a late-night shooting on Saturday.

The department said officers responded to the 4000 block of Plowden Road around 11 p.m. and found the victim with gunshot wounds primarily to the upper body. While police didn't have his exact condition, the department said officers last noted him as stable at the hospital.

Authorities haven't said what led to the shooting or if they have identified a potential suspect.
