18-Year-Old Arrested, Accused of Killing Columbia Man

Officers say the suspect is wanted for shooting and killing a man late last month in Columbia.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) Columbia Police have arrested an 18-year-old who was wanted in connection to a deadly shooting at home last month.

Gwan Perry Jr., 18, is charged with murder, attempted murder, attempted strong arm robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The suspect, Perry, was found Monday morning at the Red Roof Inn on Two Notch Road and was taken into custody by the police departments Fugitive Tea and also the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force without incident.

Perry is accused of shooting and killing Cory Jenkins, 30. The victim was found unresponsive insie a Samson Circle home on March 25 of this year and the coroner determined that Jenkins died from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Also found in the hone was a second victim, a male 64, who suffered a gunshot wound to the upper arm. He has since been treated and released from a local hospital.

Investigators believe that the shooting stemmed from an argument and additional arrests in connection with his investigation are possible.
