Richland County, SC (WLTX)- The City of Columbia Water Works is urging customers of Riverwalk Way east Lykes Lane, Hookstone Way, Harper Park Road, Old Tree Court, North Palace Court, Hedgefield Road and Leeford Court in Richland County to boil their water.
People living in the area are asked to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Residents who lost water or have low water pressure are advised to boil their water as well.
The City of Columbia has experienced an 8 inch water main break. Authorities say the break could result in bacterial contamination to those in the above affected area.
Crews with the City of Columbia are on scene working to fix the problem.
