KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Officials say lanes are reopening after a tractor-trailer fire on I-20 in Kershaw County.

A spokesperson for Kershaw County Fire Services said the fire happened near mile marker 104 eastbound and involved a tractor-trailer carrying gasoline. However, fire officials said the tank did not rupture and the fire only involved the cab of the truck.

Initially, all lanes of I-20 were closed, but officials said they have begun reopening lanes, alleviating some of the existing traffic backup. As of 4:40 p.m., both westbound lanes were open, and one eastbound lane was open. Drivers should still expect congestion in the area.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as they become available.
