Camden Couple Believed to be on the Run with Missing 2-Year-Old, Police Say

The couple is believed to be driving a tan 1996 Ford Aerostar van with Idaho tags.

Camden, SC (WLTX) - Camden police are looking for a missing 2-year-old they believe is in the custody of her biological parents.

The Department of Social Services reported the child missing Tuesday after obtaining an ex parte order to have the child removed from the custody of Jessica Louise Ray and William Eugene Ray, her biological parents.

The child's uncle, Johnny Ray, was supposed to take custody of her while an investigation was completed after the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department called DSS to a scene at a motel on April 12, according to a report.

On April 16, William reportedly convinced Johnny to take him and the child to the DSS office to complete paperwork so William could regain custody. After dropping William and the child at the office, Johnny left to get some food. When he returned, both William and the child were gone, according to a report.

The couple is believed to be driving a tan 1996 Ford Aerostar van with Idaho tags.

Williams, 43, is described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 340 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Jessica, 36, is described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 112 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

The missing child is 2 years old, weighing 25 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
