PJ Dozier is Gaining Experience In The G-League

PJ Dozier was in town Saturday for Legends Weekend at USC and he talked about the strides he is making as a rookie player in the G-League.

After leaving USC after his sophomore year, there were plenty of people wondering if PJ Dozier made the right call.

While he has yet to reach full-time status in the NBA, the Spring Valley graduate has played a few regular season games as part of his two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G-League. Players in the G-League can be called up to their NBA team for a maximum of 45 games. PJ has played two games for the Thunder with the bulk of his playing time coming with the Oklahoma City Blue. He is averaging 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals in the G-League.

"It's been great, thus far," Dozier said.

"I'm in a great spot with a great organization."

The former McDonalds All-American says the two games and practices with the Thunder have allowed him to go back to the G-League a better player because of the experience of playing with an elite group.

"It's all about taking strides, taking baby steps," Dozier said.

"That's what I've been doing. Taking it one day at a time."

Dozier was undrafted free agent who signed with the Lakers for their summer league. He also spent time in the Dallas organization before hooking up with the Oklahoma City Blue.
