Coroner identifies victim in Lexington County fatal hit-and-run

South Carolina Highway Patrol seeks help in identifying the driver

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person killed in a hit and run on July 18.

Ms. Sierra Lachelle Parker, 23, of Columbia was in the westbound lanes when she was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.  

Parker was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision.

Investigators with the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) are asking the public for assistance with information regarding the fatal hit-and-run that happened in Lexington County on Monday, July 18.

The incident involving an unknown vehicle and the 23-year-old woman, happened around 11:45 p.m. Monday on I-26 Westbound, near St. Andrews Road (mile marker 106). The vehicle was travelling west on the interstate when it struck a pedestrian and left the scene.

While the make and model of the vehicle is unknown, investigators believe the vehicle may have front end damage.
