COLUMBIA, S.C. — Becky Budds is a Multi-Skilled Journalist at WLTX-TV in Columbia, SC where she covers a range of topics as a general assignment reporter and State House reporter. Becky joined the team in December 2021.
Becky comes from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. She’s a graduate of DePaul University where she studied Journalism and Public Relations.
In college Becky was a reporter for the university’s television show Good Day DePaul and a News Director/Reporter for Radio DePaul.
She also worked under esteemed journalists Carol Marin and Don Moseley at DePaul’s Center for Journalism Integrity and Excellence. Becky also interned at Naperville Community Television (NCTV 17).
Becky is also a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Junior Board and a recipient of the NATAS Chicago College Scholarship.
In her free time she loves hanging out with her cat, working out, trying new restaurants and watching New Girl.
Though she’s a Chicago girl at heart, Becky is excited to try all the good southern food and tell the stories of those in the Midlands.
