Weather delay can't stop Lexington Snowball Festival from bringing holiday happiness to local children

The kids were writing up their dreams for what Santa could leave under the tree.

LEXINGTON, S.C. — After being postponed for weather concerns, the Town of Lexington Snowball Festival was back with plenty of jolly on Saturday.

Kids, their heads full of dreams of Christmas morning, took a moment to tell Santa how good they were this year at the town of Lexington’s snowball fest.

“I helped a friend when she fell down,” a wishful child said.

“I helped a kid,” one child wrote at the Santa Letter station.

While writing about why they were good this year, kids ensured Santa knew where to send the best gift.

“Something I can ride on like a kid motorcycle,” one first grader said.

“I want a Barbie house,” kindergartener Gwyn said.

“It’s a free event just so the community can come out and enjoy, bring the entire family. Just give people something to do for the holiday season,” Laurin Barnes with the Town of Lexington said.

There is more holiday fun in Lexington, with movie night on Thursday and Friday at the Icehouse Amphitheater. The town is showing the Grinch and The Santa Clause.
