Dog rescued in Phoenix after found wedged inside car engine

The 2-year-old dog was freed from inside of a 1967 Chevy Nova after getting stuck while chasing after a cat.

PHOENIX — A dog that got wedged inside a car engine earlier this month is now looking for a new home in the Valley.

The 2-year-old Weimaraner mix was rescued on Jan. 19 from a 1967 Chevy Nova near 67th Avenue and Camelback Road after the dog climbed into the vehicle while chasing after a cat, according to the Arizona Humane Society.

Two emergency animal rescue technicians responded to the scene and helped to gently release the dog from the car engine.

AHS said the dog, aptly named Nova, is ready to find a forever home after she was treated for some minor wounds.

Information on adopting a pet from AHS can be found here. Adopting a dog Nova's age would cost $49.
