It was a record-setting day for area nonprofits as thousands of people gave back to the community by donating through Midlands Gives, the annual day of giving organized by the Central Carolina Community Foundation (CCCF) in Columbia.
The preliminary numbers as of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday show 19,264 donations were made to 574 organizations, totaling $4,588,248 dollars. That amount eclipsed the $4.4 million raised and the 568 nonprofits served in 2023.
In addition, 25,745 volunteer hours were pledged to various nonprofits to help continue the good work in communities across the state.
100% of donations collected through Midlands Gives go directly to the donor's selected nonprofit.
