CAMDEN, S.C. — Beginning March 19, transactions at SAFE Federal Credit Union’s Camden and Lugoff branches will be limited to drive-throughs and ATMs only.

The decision to close lobby access at the Camden and Lugoff branches was announced by SAFE in response to a recent increase of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the Camden area.

“The health and safety of our members and employees are a top priority and especially now,” said Darrell Merkel, President and CEO. “We are closely monitoring developments and will continue to respond as the situation requires.”

Safe deposit box access will be available to members by appointment by calling the SAFE switchboard at 803-469-8600.

Except for its Camden and Lugoff locations, all other SAFE branches remain fully accessible and are operating under normal business hours.

To minimize the chance of Coronavirus exposure, SAFE encourages members to take advantage of its recently upgraded online and mobile banking services. In recent months, the credit union also expanded availability of its call center, which is accessible Monday through Friday (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) and on Saturday (9:00 am to 1:00 pm).
