Detectives working on the Paula Merchant case say they still get leads, despite the passage of so much time. Merchant vanished four years ago at the age of 25. Police found her burned out car near Owens Field.The Merchant family says they still hope to see Paula's smiling face one day. Detective B.W. Hinson has tracked at least 1,000 leads, but all of them have been a dead end. He says when he volunteered for the case, he thought it would be easier to solve. He says someone had to know or see something. Any evidence left in her car was destroyed by the fire.Hinson still talks with the Merchant family at least once a month. He says the case will may only be solved if someone comes forward.The reward for information leading to an arrest is now up to $50,000.
