Arrest made in double homicide in Orangeburg County

Richard Haynes, is charged with 2 counts of murder in the deaths of Kayla Beason and James Christopher Robinson Jr. back in March.

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — An arrest has been made in a double homicide in Orangeburg County last month.

Richard Haynes, who had previously been arrest for obstruction of justice in the case, was arrested in Myrtle Beach on Friday and charged with 2 counts of murder in the deaths of Kayla Beason, 32, of Cordova and James Christopher Robinson Jr., 23, of Orangeburg.

Beason and Robinson were found shot to death in a home a home on Pontiac Lane in Cordova on the evening of March 25.

Haynes, who is also charged with burglary and stalking in the same case, allegedly used GPS-type tracking devices in the crime, according to deputies.

Deputies said Haynes and Beason may have been a couple at one time. There is no known relationship between Hayne or Beason with Robinson, according to deputies.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.
