Columbia Police investigate after one shot along West Beltline Boulevard

Authorities said the victim was receiving treatment at an area hospital and is considered stable.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Police are at the scene of a shooting that occurred on Sunday afternoon off West Beltline Boulevard.

A spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department said the shooting happened on Bailey Street at the Colony Apartments around 1 p.m. Police are still investigating and gathering evidence from the scene. While the female victim's exact condition was not available, police said they've learned she is stable and receiving treatment at an area hospital for a wound to the lower body.
