A Wednesday night shooting is under investigation by the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Here's what we know.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating the deadly shooting and asking for tips from the public.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead following a Wednesday night shooting in the Lower Richland area, authorities say.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Cottage Court around 9 p.m. Arriving deputies found the victim in a driveway with what they said appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. Deputies rendered aid to the victim until emergency medical services arrived. However, the victim died from their injuries.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as 22-year-old Tobias Williams, of Eastover.

The sheriff's department said it is still investigating and doesn't have many details to release on the shooting. However, investigators believe a dark-colored sedan was involved.
