LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Witnesses told investigators that a fight in a bar parking lot is what led up to gunfire, a struggle for a gun, and a man being wounded on Saturday morning.

Now they're looking for the shooter.

According to preliminary details provided by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to The Hidden Tavern on Wing Hill Drive around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday after the fight was initially reported. Sheriff Jay Koon said that dispatchers soon informed deputies that shots had been fired at the location - which is roughly 550 yards south of Augusta Highway.

When deputies arrived they spoke to a man who had been shot in the lower body. He was able to provide some early details of what had just happened.

“The shooting victim, who is expected to recover, told us a fight started in the parking lot, which prompted someone to fire several shots into the air,” Koon said in a statement.

The sheriff said the shooter then drove around to the front of the bar and began arguing with another person before firing more shots as more people tried to get the gun away from him.

Authorities were able to recover two vehicles from nearby property that they said were involved in the shooting. Those have been towed in as evidence.

The sheriff's department is now asking anyone who may have information about the incident or the shooter to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or visit CrimeSC.com. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
