COLUMBIA, S.C. — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) are investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday morning in the 7000 block of Nates Road. That address is the Red Roof Inn Columbia East/Ft. Jackson, just off Two Notch Road near the I-20 interchange.
Hotel employees contacted RCSD regarding an unresponsive female around 11 a.m. October 18. Arriving at the scene, deputies found an adult female with a gunshot wound to her upper body.
