Pool prices and hours: What to expect this summer in Columbia and Richland County

Opening day is Saturday, May 25, 2024, for Columbia's two pools and Richland County's three outdoor pools

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Outdoor pools in the City of Columbia and Richland County will open on Saturday, May 25, 2024. 

Columbia's Maxcy Gregg Pool and Greenview Pool will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on opening day, Saturday, May 25, 2024, and from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Both pools will be open for recreational swimming on the following holidays: Memorial Day (May 27, 2024), Independence Day (July 4, 2024) and Labor Day (Sept. 2, 2024) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Columbia's Drew Splash Pad will open on June 8, 2024.

Richland County's Eastover Park, St. Andrews Park and Trenholm Park pools will be open 1-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25, and Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2. In addition, Eastover will be open Wednesday through Saturday, while St. Andrews and Trenholm will open Tuesday through Saturday. Regular hours for all three county pools will start on June 4.

Columbia Pool Hours

Regular hours for recreational swimming are as follows:

Maxcy Gregg Pool, 1655 Park Circle 

  • Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Fridays Closed for Maintenance
  • Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Greenview Pool, 6700 David Street

  • Mondays Closed for Maintenance
  • Tuesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Columbia Cost

Admission for Recreation Swim:

  • $3 for 12 and under
  • $4 for ages 13 & over

Season Passes Available

  • $80 for ages 12 and under
  • $120 for ages 13 & above 
  • $75 for Group Child Pass    

The recreational swim season will remain open until Monday, Sept. 2, 2024 (Labor Day).

Richland County Pool Hours

Hours are subject to change based on staffing availability.

Eastover, 1031 Main St., Eastover

  • Wednesday-Saturday 1-6 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, May 24-25 and June 1-2
  • Regular hours start Wednesday, June 5

St. Andrews, 920 Beatty Rd.

  • Wednesday-Saturday 1-6 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, May 24-25 and June 1-2
  • Regular hours start Tuesday, June 4

Trenholm Park, 3900 Covenant Rd.

  • Wednesday-Saturday 1-6 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, May 24-25 and June 1-2
  • Regular hours start Tuesday, June 4

Richland County Cost

Pool memberships are free for the entire family; swim lessons for adults and children are offered for $20-$25 per session or $50 for eight lessons. Schedules are on the Richland County Recreation Commission Aquatics website.
