FAYETTEVILLE, Tennessee — A Fayetteville mother wants to celebrate her son's birthday with one of his favorite things--mail! She's doing it by asking the public to help make her son's day extra special.
Lauren Porter is the mother of Axl Porter, a three-year boy born with a very rare birth defect and high functioning autism.
"His smile can brighten up a room." said Porter. "He likes anything and everything that is Blippi, dump trucks, monster trucks and garbage trucks."
Another one of Axl's favorite things is to help his mother check the mail and that's what Porter says sparked her idea for his upcoming birthday--for him to receive mail of his own for his fourth birthday. His birthday is on December 14th.
"He loves to check the mail with me every day and gets so excited when we get junk mail that we let him open up." said Porter, "I could only imagine him opening up a birthday card for him."
